A detailed mix of pencil and ink to form in depth veins/structural 'emotions' within those unwanted scars/memories. Large-scale Observational Tonal Pencil Study; working from direct observation of Maple Tree Leaf.

Throughout this project the main focus, and symbolism was finding a way to demonstrate 'damaged' skin through my artwork, and looking for ways to 'repair' and 'nourish', to form a range of mesmerising outcomes.

Damaged skin could be: intentional' or 'unintentional', or leave 'physical' or 'mental' marks upon someone's soul or body, Therefore on this paged I have interpreted this concept in various way to form detailed explanations through design. And the use of natural forms to 'repair', or 'conceal' these scars.

The Natural Decorative Skin project was my best yet, and allowed me to explore my strengths in greater detail.
Using a range of mediums; (ink/colour pencil/oil pastel/gouache) to form veins and intertwining strands of 'hope' inside the Birch Leaf. Observational Studies; with an influence/emphasis on colour/textural details. The royal blue symbolising feelings of 'pureness' and 'truth'.
Using a range of mediums; (Pencil/Biro/Ink with water/Reverse Applique Textiles sample overlay), to form a series of natural outcomes; inspired by the Birch leaf. Exploring the use of textures and mark making from one main form of inspiration; Birch Leaf. A natural tattoo design that could be used to 'conceal' those unwanted scars. I enjoyed introducing fabric samples/incorporated into my illustrations, as it was another form of layering, which proceeded into a successful series.
